A letter from Ms Murnez Blades (Dominic's Spanish teacher)

Dear Kerrie and Ren Roque

One day, driving to class, I began to wonder what ever happened to the happy and enthusiastic student named Dominique. He seemed to love the class. He studied and knew his vocabulary and was so proud of himself (as was I.) I was amazed. Very few students really take time to study.

That day, I received the letter about his passing. I have no words to express how very sad I feel. I felt stricken at the time. It took me days to read the story as it is so heartbreaking. (It makes one put into perspective all the petty things in this life that we worry about.) I cannot imagine the pain you must be feeling. I am so sorry that you have to suffer in this way.

I loved the picture of him at College View. And, I see “light” at the end of the tunnel as I look at the picture of him under the pier (?) He was a light to many people, including this teacher.

Thank you for sharing Dominique with me. How wonderful to have the family in class watching his accomplishments. I am glad that you cherished every moment. And, I shall always keep him in my heart.

Sincerely,

Murnez Blades
